Stephen Nana, popularly known as Stevenator, has finally revealed why he parted ways with Afrobeat star Asake.

He shared his side of the story during a recent social media interview that attracted attention from fans and industry observers, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

Stevenator managed Asake between 2022 and 2024, during the singer’s rapid rise in the Nigerian and international music scenes.

Speculations had been mounting following noticeable changes in Asake’s management and a decline in public appearances with Stevenator.

Stevenator stated that his decision to leave was due to the overwhelming pace of Asake’s skyrocketing success.

He explained that the fame and increasing workload exceeded the original scope of their working relationship.

According to him, the demands became too much to handle without a larger, more structured management team.

He described the split as a natural progression, not a result of personal conflict or professional dispute.

Asake’s rise has been phenomenal, with his unique voice and energetic performances capturing audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

His music quickly gained popularity, bringing along international recognition and a demanding tour schedule.

Stevenator admitted that the speed of Asake’s growth required a new management structure to sustain that momentum.

Despite stepping away, Stevenator expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the artist’s journey.

He thanked Olamide, head of YBNL Nation, for introducing him to music management through Asake.

Stevenator revealed that before managing Asake, he had no prior experience in entertainment management.

He said Olamide had simply called and asked him to manage an artist under the YBNL label.

“I didn’t know anything about the job,” he said during the interview.

Stevenator and Olamide have been friends for over two decades, long before their professional collaboration began.

This personal relationship, he said, was likely why Olamide trusted him with such an important responsibility.

Their partnership resulted in a successful two-year run filled with major performances and career achievements.

His comments have sparked online conversations about how artists and their teams must evolve with growing success.

Observers praised Stevenator’s maturity, noting that he avoided unnecessary drama and handled the split professionally.

Many highlighted the intense pressure within the entertainment industry and how it can affect even the strongest partnerships.

Stevenator’s calm and reflective tone throughout the interview earned him widespread respect from fans and peers alike.

Since the split, Asake has continued to perform locally and internationally, releasing new music and gaining more followers.

Stevenator, on the other hand, has remained relatively quiet about his next move in the entertainment space.

However, his recent appearance has reignited curiosity about whether he will manage other artists in the future.

Some speculate that he may explore broader roles in entertainment or return in a different managerial capacity.

For now, his story serves as a case study in growth, transition, and professional self-awareness in the music industry.
