A suspected serial killer in Kenya has confessed to murdering 42 women, including his wife, since 2022, and dumping their corpses in a quarry.

Jumaisi Khalusha, 33, was apprehended on Monday at a bar in Nairobi while watching the Euro final.

His arrest came after authorities discovered multiple bodies at a quarry in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga area, leading to a nationwide outcry.

According to Mohamed Amin, head of the Criminal Investigations Directorate, Khalusha confessed to the heinous crimes, which have left the country reeling in horror.

The victims, aged between 18 and 30, were all killed in the same manner, with their dismembered bodies found at the quarry.

The police have cordoned off the dumpsite since Friday and are still interrogating the suspect to determine the motive behind the killings.

Khalusha is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

This gruesome discovery has sparked widespread shock and anger across Kenya, with many calling for justice and increased security measures to prevent such atrocities from happening again.

Meanwhile, information reaching Diaspora Digital Media has it that about 13 bodies have so far been retrieved from the dumpsite.

A local diver, Charles Wambua, has been risking his life to retrieve the bodies, despite the lack of protective gear and support from authorities.

The bodies, wrapped in green gunny bags, are believed to be those of young women.

The police have been accused of complicity, with claims that they accepted bribes to allow the dumping of bodies.

Wambua’s efforts have been met with hostility from the police, who fired tear gas and shots to disperse a crowd that had gathered to protest the dumping of bodies.
