March 19, 2025 – Jigawa – The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended a teacher, Mal Musa Wada, in connection with the brutal murder of a 14-year-old Almajiri boy, Bashir Adamu.
The gruesome incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, occurred in Jikas-Dabaja Village, Gwaram Local Government Area.
According to police reports, the crime came to light on March 12, 2025, when officers at the Gwaram Division were alerted to the discovery of the boy’s mutilated body. The victim had been killed in a horrific manner, with his head and private parts severed. The disturbing nature of the case prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by law enforcement authorities.
Following days of intensive efforts, officers arrested 35-year-old Mal Musa Wada on March 18.
Following his capture, the suspect confessed to the crime and led detectives to the victim’s buried remains.
While the motive remains unclear, authorities are pursuing all leads and preparing charges for prosecution.
Meanwhile, Bashir Adamu’s death has ignited public anger, with residents demanding swift justice and safeguards for Almajiri children.
In response, Jigawa police pledged to uphold justice, urging calm and public cooperation during ongoing investigations.
