In a dramatic nationwide crackdown, EFCC operatives launched a strong offensive against cybercrime syndicates.

They arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters in coordinated raids across Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

Acting on verified intelligence, undercover agents swiftly moved in, catching the suspects off guard in their hideouts.

This operation, which sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s cybercrime underworld, underlines the agency’s intensified fight against financial fraud.

According to an explosive EFCC statement released on June 19, 2025, these suspects had been under surveillance for weeks before their eventual capture.

Investigators uncovered a trail of digital evidence linking the suspects to high-profile online scams.

During the operation, 13 suspects were rounded up from Atimbo and Lemna Trailer Park in Calabar, while six others were arrested earlier in Idoro, Akwa Ibom.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, as operatives stormed luxury apartments and makeshift offices in the process.

The EFCC recovered an astonishing haul of stolen wealth, including three high-end vehicles, 31 sophisticated mobile devices, and five powerful laptops filled with incriminating data.

Forensic analysis revealed complex fraud schemes targeting both local and international victims, further emphasizing the scale of the threat.

Moreover, an EFCC spokesperson declared, “This is just the beginning,” warning that more arrests are imminent.

With investigations now at a critical stage, prosecutors are preparing airtight charges to secure convictions.

The agency remains committed to dismantling every cybercrime network operating within Nigeria, regardless of how deeply entrenched they might be.

Meanwhile, cybersecurity experts are urging Nigerians to strengthen their online security, as fraudsters continue evolving their tactics.

The EFCC’s recent victory clearly sends a message: Nigeria’s digital space will no longer be a playground for criminals.

As public confidence grows, citizens are rallying behind the anti-graft agency, hopeful that this marks a turning point in Nigeria’s fight against internet fraud.

Although the battle remains fierce, operations like this bring the country closer to victory.
