(DDM) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated a series of major infrastructure projects in Ogun State, declaring that his administration’s investments are focused on improving the lives of citizens.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) confirmed that the projects unveiled include a new cargo airport, electric mobility initiatives, and a customs processing hub aimed at boosting economic activities in the state.

Speaking during the inauguration, Tinubu emphasised that the projects are designed to drive development, create jobs, and enhance productivity across key sectors of the economy.

He stated that the government’s approach to infrastructure development is people-centred, targeting long-term benefits rather than short-term gains.

According to the president, the newly commissioned cargo airport is expected to improve logistics, facilitate trade, and attract both local and international investment.

He noted that the facility would strengthen Ogun State’s position as a strategic industrial and commercial hub in Nigeria.

Tinubu also highlighted the introduction of electric bikes as part of efforts to promote cleaner and more sustainable transportation systems.

The initiative, he said, aligns with global trends toward reducing carbon emissions and improving urban mobility.

In addition, the customs hub is expected to streamline trade processes, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance revenue generation for the government.

The president stressed that efficient customs operations are critical to economic growth and national competitiveness.

Observers say Ogun State’s proximity to Lagos makes it a key beneficiary of such infrastructure investments.

They note that improved transport and logistics systems could further attract industries and boost regional development.

Analysts also point out that the projects reflect broader efforts by the federal government to modernise infrastructure and stimulate economic expansion.

However, some critics argue that sustained maintenance and effective management will be crucial to ensuring long-term impact.

They warn that without proper oversight, large-scale projects risk underperformance or abandonment.

As the administration continues to roll out development initiatives, attention remains on how these projects will translate into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
