Fisayo Soyombo, former editor of TheCable and one of Africa’s most decorated journalists, has tackled the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu over his political manifesto which was unveiled today by president Muhammadu Buhari during the inauguration of the presidential campaign council of the former Lagos governor in Abuja.

In the 80-page manifesto titled; “Renewed Hope 2023 – Action Plan for a Better Nigeria”, Bola Tinubu promised to focus on national security, economy, agriculture, power, oil and gas, transportation and education.

Other areas include; healthcare, digital economy, women empowerment, judicial reform, federalism/decentralisation of power, foreign policy and sundry issues like drug abuse.

However, while reacting to Tinubu’s promise of tackling drug abuse, the award winning journalist, Soyombo wondered how an individual who has been indicted in drug related offence in the past address drug abuse.

He said, “The people who have a past with links to drug circles are the ones with a manifesto that includes tackling drug abuse😂😂😂”
