Tragedy for Iran: Israel awaits US decision on joining Iran strikes

Israel is awaiting a critical decision from the United States within the next 24 to 48 hours.

This decision concerns whether President Donald Trump will authorize direct U.S. military participation in ongoing strikes against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

According to a senior Israeli official quoted by The Times of Israel, while Israel has continued a focused campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, military experts believe that a truly decisive attack, particularly on hardened underground facilities like the Fordow uranium enrichment site, would require American firepower, including advanced bunker-busting munitions.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that although Israel has not officially requested direct military intervention, there is a growing expectation that the U.S. will become more actively involved as the conflict intensifies.

“The expectation is that they [the U.S.] join, but no one is pushing them,” the Israeli official said.

“They have to make their own decision.”

While the Biden administration has thus far expressed diplomatic support for Israel and condemned Iranian aggression, it has stopped short of authorizing direct military intervention.

President Trump, meanwhile, has remained ambiguous in public statements, occasionally issuing veiled threats against Iran but giving no formal commitment.

Israeli officials are reportedly watching Washington closely for any signs of policy change, particularly amid rising regional tensions.

Defense Minister Israel Katz is said to be working in close coordination with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This ensures that all military and diplomatic actions remain tightly aligned with the government’s broader war strategy.

“Katz always makes his statements according to what Netanyahu asks him to do,” the senior official emphasized.

“He’s not doing it on his own.”

Israel has expanded its air operations beyond nuclear sites to include Iranian communication centers and government institutions.

This signals a broader scope of engagement.

The intensifying strikes come in response to growing Iranian missile launches.

There are also concerns over the depletion of Israel’s Arrow missile interceptor systems.

With defense resources under strain, Israeli leaders are increasingly urging their international allies to step up their roles.

They seek support through intelligence sharing, logistical backing, or direct action.

Meanwhile, the risk of regional spillover has grown sharply.

Hezbollah, Iran’s Lebanese ally, issued a strong warning.

The group said that any attempt to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would result in “disastrous consequences” across the Middle East.

Despite the escalating hostilities, the Israeli public and much of the political opposition remain firmly behind the government’s handling of the crisis.

This unity reinforces national resolve during one of the most dangerous chapters in modern Middle Eastern geopolitics.
