Troops from Operation Hadin Kai, stationed in Kawuri, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, successfully repelled an insurgent attack.
This assault was launched from the Sambisa Forest in the early hours of Tuesday, showcasing the troops’ effectiveness and readiness against such threats.
According to intelligence sources Zagazola , the battle lasted about two hours and concluded with the insurgents retreating.
They faced heavy casualties during this confrontation, indicating the troops’ resilience and tactical advantage throughout the engagement.
Additionally, reinforcement Military personnel encountered an ambush while en route to support their colleagues.
However, they swiftly neutralized the threat, allowing them to join the ongoing operation, ensuring a cohesive response to the insurgent assault.
In a gesture of solidarity, the Commander of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade visited the troops following the encounter.
He commended their bravery and urged them to maintain their steadfastness, highlighting the importance of morale among the troops during such challenging times.
Moreover, the Commander visited the family of a victim who lost their life due to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by insurgents.
During this visit, he assured the family of the military’s support and emphasized the need to sustain troop morale in the face of ongoing threats.
“The battle is not over yet; you must remain vigilant and prepared for any eventuality,” the Commander emphasized while addressing the troops, reinforcing their crucial role in ongoing security efforts.
