US President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition in older adults that affects blood circulation in the legs.

Chronic venous insufficiency occurs when weakened veins in the legs hinder normal blood circulation, causing symptoms like swelling.

Trump underwent a comprehensive examination, including ultrasound imaging, after noticing mild swelling in his lower legs.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump has no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease and has a normal cardiac structure and function.

Leavitt attributed the bruising on Trump’s right hand to frequent handshaking and aspirin use, a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.

While specific treatment details aren’t provided, common recommendations for chronic venous insufficiency include wearing compression stockings, exercising, and elevating the legs periodically.

Trump’s health has been under intense scrutiny, especially given his age and recent visible symptoms, with some speculating about potential underlying health issues.

It’s worth noting that Trump’s diagnosis comes amid a backdrop of heightened focus on presidential health, particularly with Trump being the oldest sitting US president and previous concerns surrounding his predecessor Joe Biden’s health .
