Trump organization unveils new mobile phone

Published

Donald Trump’s family empire has dialed into the mobile phone market—literally.

The Trump Organization has launched a new wireless service dubbed “Trump Mobile”, promising patriotic flair, gold-colored smartphones, and a monthly plan priced to nod at the former and current US president’s historic legacy.

The service will reportedly charge $47.45 per month, a number that echoes Trump’s presidential positions as the 45th and 47th commander-in-chief.

Also, the branded smartphone, made in the USA and featuring a shiny gold finish, is available for $499 and currently up for pre-order.

While the company made sweeping claims about offering an “affordable, values-driven wireless service,” it offered no specifics on the telecom partner powering the network—raising serious questions about infrastructure, service quality, and transparency.

In a statement, the Trump Organization said:

“Hard-working Americans deserve a wireless service that’s affordable, reflects their values, and delivers reliable quality they can count on.

The company also announced “discounted international calls” for military families and promised U.S.-based customer support.

But critics say the announcement reeks of ethical red flags.

Ethics groups have blasted the venture as another way for Trump to profit personally while holding office, raising concerns of conflict of interest and influence-peddling.

“It’s unbelievable that the Trump family has created yet another way for President Trump to personally profit while in office,” said Meghan Faulkner of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

They questioned whether policies could now be crafted to benefit the president’s own business, especially in a sector where regulatory power is significant.

Neither the Trump Organization nor the White House responded to questions about their business partners or ethics implications.

This latest launch adds to a long list of Trump-branded consumer goods, including watches, colognes, bibles, sneakers, and even NFTs.

Trump’s most recent financial disclosure showed over $600 million in revenue last year from various brand deals and business interests.

Forbes estimates Trump’s net worth has doubled, now standing at $5.1 billion, boosted by a fervent MAGA base and the rising valuation of his Truth Social media platform.

Trump Mobile is entering a telecom space dominated by giants—Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile—who all offer more competitively priced plans.

Meanwhile, smaller MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators) like the now-defunct Mint Mobile, sold for $1.35 billion, show that even niche players need millions of users to survive.

Analysts warn that even with strong political branding, success in the telecom sector is not guaranteed.

Trump Mobile may shine in gold, but questions over ethics, value, and long-term viability loom large.

Whether the venture becomes a MAGA-fueled telecom disruptor or just another branded gimmick remains to be seen.
