Emergency services responded quickly to the crash, while authorities temporarily shut down operations at the airport. Flights were either diverted to nearby airports or returned to their departure locations.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop following the incident, citing an emergency situation on the runway.

Images from the scene showed visible damage to the front of the aircraft, while the fire truck was also badly affected.

Investigations into the cause of the collision are expected to begin, as aviation authorities work to determine how the incident occurred.
