Appeal court sitting in Delta State has referred back the petition of the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party–LP in the State, Honourable Ken Pela back to the tribunal for onward hearing.

Recall that Delta election petition tribunal had dismissed LP’s case against governor Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party—PDP over alleged abandonment by the petitioners.

Though, not satisfied with the ruling, Honorable Ken Pela requested for a review of the case which the tribunal rejected.

Pela proceeded to the Appeal court seeking a review of the tribunal’s decision.

However, in a landmark judgement today, Ken Pela won the case as the Appeal Court asked both PDP and LP to return back to the tribunal for appropriate hearing and proceedings.

This means that the Labour Party–LP shall reopen their case again against the sitting governor, Sheriff Oborevwori who was declared winner of the last election by the Independent National Electoral Commission—INEC.
