The Leadership and members of United Progressive Party (UPP) received with shock the news of the transition to glory of the mother of the Party’s National Chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, the Late Lolo Ezinne Regina Ugonma Okorie who died at the age of 83 years.

Although she died at the ripe age of 83 years, the death of a mother at any age is very painful and devastating.

We share the grief of members of the family and pray to God Almighty to console, comfort and strengthen all those affected by Mama’s transition to glory.

The Late Lolo Ezinne Regina Ugonma Okorie was a devout Christian, Community Women Leader and philanthropist, peacemaker, loving and caring mother to her children and all those privileged to come in contact with her.

We are glad that she lived a life worthy of emulation and would be remembered as a supportive wife of the Late His Royal Highness Eze Edward Okorie Emerih, 1st Igboji of Alayi Clan in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, who reigned from 1960 to 1978.
