Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up about the sensitive process of filming romantic and intimate scenes in movies, explaining that he often checks in with his female co-stars to ensure they are comfortable with what is required during filming.

Speaking about his experiences on set, the actor said he always makes it a point to ask his female colleagues where they personally draw the line when it comes to intimate scenes. According to him, these conversations are important to make sure everyone involved feels respected and safe while working.

Arukwe noted that communication between actors is key, especially when a film involves emotionally charged or romantic scenes. He explained that every performer has different comfort levels, so discussing boundaries beforehand helps avoid misunderstandings during filming.

While reflecting on a particular project involving reality TV couple BamBam and Teddy A, the actor admitted he initially felt concerned about how far the scenes might go. However, he said he eventually realised that the couple were fully aware of what the scenes required and were comfortable portraying their roles.

According to Arukwe, his concern came from a place of professionalism and respect for fellow actors. He explained that in the film industry, scenes involving romance or intimacy require careful coordination, trust, and clear boundaries between performers.

The actor also stressed that audiences sometimes misunderstand how such scenes are filmed. He pointed out that productions often involve directors, crew members, and structured guidelines to ensure actors remain comfortable while still telling the story effectively.

Arukwe’s comments have sparked discussions online about professionalism in Nollywood and the importance of consent, communication, and respect when actors are required to portray intimate moments on screen.
