Controversial social media personality VeryDarkMan has criticised Apostle Arome Osayi over his approach to Christian ministry, accusing him of contributing to what he described as Nigeria’s slow development.
VeryDarkMan made the remarks while reacting to the cleric’s ministry and the influence of religious teachings on Nigerians.
In a strongly worded statement, the activist warned Apostle Arome about the consequences of what he described as “fake ministrations,” while arguing that excessive reliance on prayer and miracles could discourage people from pursuing innovation and practical solutions to the country’s challenges.
“Apostle Arome, a day will come where your likes will be spat on when you walk, you are destroying the future of our great nations with these fake ministrations,” VeryDarkMan said.
He also criticised both Christian and Muslim religious institutions, claiming that they have contributed significantly to Nigeria’s lack of development.
“The church and the mosque have contributed 80 percent to why we’re still backwards as a nation because the people that are meant to be innovative are praying every day inside church hoping for a miracle,” he added.
His comments have generated reactions online, with the debate once again drawing attention to the role of religion in Nigeria’s social and economic development.
VeryDarkMan’s remarks reflect his broader criticism of institutions and public figures whom he believes should be held accountable for their influence on society.
Apostle Arome Osayi had not publicly responded to the comments at the time of the report.
