Victor Osimhen’s Market Value Drops to €65m Despite Strong Galatasaray Form

Victor Osimhen’s market value has dropped by €10m to €65m in the latest Transfermarkt update, despite the Nigerian striker making an impressive start to the 2026/27 season with Galatasaray.

The new valuation represents a notable fall for the Super Eagles forward, who was valued at €75m as recently as May. It also takes Osimhen to his lowest market value in four years, with the last €65m valuation recorded in June 2022, when he was 23 and still establishing himself at Napoli.

The timing of the reduction is particularly striking because Osimhen has continued to deliver on the pitch. The 27-year-old has scored six goals and registered two assists in four Turkish Super Lig appearances this season, giving him eight goal contributions in just 303 minutes of league football.

His current numbers underline why the latest valuation has attracted attention. Osimhen has averaged two goal contributions per league appearance, while his six goals have come from a limited number of matches. His scoring form has remained one of the major features of Galatasaray’s early campaign.

However, Transfermarkt valuations are influenced by broader market considerations and are not simply a reflection of a player’s goals and assists.

Osimhen arrived at Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September 2024 with a market value of €100m. That figure made him the most valuable player in Turkish Super Lig history at the time. His valuation subsequently fell to €75m following his move away from one of Europe’s top five leagues.

His value later declined to €70m before returning to €75m after Galatasaray completed his permanent transfer from Napoli for €75m in July 2025. Transfermarkt retained the €75m valuation into May 2026, meaning the latest reduction represents a €10m change within a few months.

The latest figure is also considerably below the highest valuation of Osimhen’s career. During his Napoli years, the striker reached a peak market value of €120m. At €65m today, he is therefore €55m below that career high.

Despite the reduction, Osimhen remains the most valuable player in the Turkish market according to the latest Transfermarkt figures. Rafael Leão is valued at €50m, while Dušan Vlahović stands at €35m and Mohamed Salah at €22m.

That ranking is significant considering the quality of players who have moved to the Turkish league. The arrival of internationally recognised stars has increased the profile of the competition, with Osimhen still occupying the top position in terms of market valuation.

His performances since joining Galatasaray have also established him as a central figure in the club’s attack. During his loan spell in the 2024/25 season, he scored 26 goals in 30 league appearances. He followed that with another 15 league goals in 22 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign, according to Opta’s career records.

Osimhen’s current campaign, however, has been interrupted by injury. He has not featured for Galatasaray in the Champions League this season and was also unavailable for Nigeria’s opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures after suffering an injury during league action in September.

The injury has temporarily halted the momentum created by his excellent start to the domestic campaign, although reports indicate that his recovery is progressing.

For Nigeria, Osimhen remains one of the country’s most important attacking players and a key figure in the Super Eagles setup. His goalscoring record at club level has continued to underline his importance, even as his transfer-market valuation has moved in the opposite direction.

The €65m figure therefore presents an interesting picture of Osimhen’s current status. His market value has fallen significantly from its €120m peak, yet his performances in Turkey continue to demonstrate his ability to influence matches and produce goals.

For now, the Nigerian striker remains under contract with Galatasaray, where his immediate focus will be on recovering from injury and returning to the pitch. If his early-season scoring form resumes after his recovery, his performances will provide another important reference point for future market-value assessments.
