The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has allegedly arrested the state coordinator of the OK Movement, Elijah Noah, in Uyo during a planned march in support of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The incident was brought to public attention by Esther Umoh, a media aide to Obi, on Thursday via her official X account.

The march, tagged the “Two Million Man March,” was organised ahead of the 2027 general elections and was scheduled to begin at 9am at the Water Fountain in Uyo.

Police had earlier warned against holding the march, citing security concerns and reports of possible disturbances.

However, Umoh alleged that Noah was arrested while participating in what she described as a peaceful march.

“The OK Movement Coordinator for Akwa Ibom State has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police while marching peacefully on the streets of Uyo,” she said.

She also alleged that police fired tear gas at supporters of Obi during the incident.

“Tear gas is being fired at Peter Obi supporters in Akwa Ibom as we speak,” Umoh added.
