The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on Thursday, receives former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakari, in Awka, Anambra State.

During the visit, Alhaji Abubakar was accompanied by the vice presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, and the party chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, amongst others.

Speaking to his guests, Governor Soludo described Atiku as one of two front-runners in the 2023 presidential election.

₦582,000 Gone! Young Man Alleges Police Officers Forcefully Took ATM Card, Drained His Account

A young man has cried out over an alleged ordeal at a police checkpoint in Imo State, claiming that officers forcefully took his ATM card and withdrew **₦582,000 from his bank account**.

According to the man, he was travelling from Aba when police officers reportedly stopped the vehicle and ordered him to come down for a search. He said nothing was found in his bag, but one of the officers allegedly pushed him into their vehicle while the public transport he was travelling in drove away.

He further alleged that the officers took him to different locations, seized his phone and questioned him about transactions in his account. According to him, they later took him to a POS outlet, where his ATM card was allegedly collected and his account balance checked.

The young man claimed that the officers allegedly hit him with an iron and threatened to shoot him if he refused to disclose his ATM PIN. He alleged that one of the officers eventually used the card to withdraw ₦582,000 from his account.

A disturbing incident has reportedly occurred along the busy Sokponba Road in Benin City, Edo State, where gunmen were said to have whisked away an unidentified individual.

The dramatic scene, reportedly witnessed along the busy road, has raised concerns among residents and road users as questions remain about the identity of the victim, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the whereabouts of the individual.

Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi has extended support to over 500 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State who were forced from their communities following devastating bandit attacks.

The victims reportedly came under attack while they slept, leaving families displaced and in urgent need of assistance.

In response to their plight, Obi donated relief materials to the affected victims, offering support to families who have been left to rebuild their lives after the attacks.
