[Video]: Tension as another Biafra militia group emerges, threatens herdsmen not to encroach the region

Trouble is looming in the Eastern region of Nigeria as another unknown militia group operating under the umbrella of Biafra People’s Army has emerged. This is coming after the fugitive leader of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu floated Eastern Security Network last December.

Although, Kanu had earlier informed his convoluted audience that the rogue security network was simply established in order to confront the rising insecurity in the region. Moreover, some Igbo leaders lambasted and warned the flippant leader of the rogue movement not to birth another Bokoharam terrorist organization in the region with his illegal security network.

While the people of the region are still battling to curtail the excesses of Kanu and his rogue security network, another militia group has emerged with an attempt to compound the security situation.

In a video obtained by ElombahNews, a group of young men were seen brandishing AK47 rifles and other lethal weapons. One of the commanders was heard on the background shouting, “all hail Biafra”, “all hail Biafra”. “We are Biafra People’s Army”. Thereafter, he fired a shot in the air and also boasted that they were ready to protect every inch of Biafra land at all cost.

However, the spokesperson of the militia group in a press statement obtained by ElombahNews said, “We Field Commanders of the Biafra People’s Army are calling on all armed Fulani herdsmen to cease from encroaching further on Biafra soil.”

“May it be in Igbo land, Ibibio land, Ijaw land or any territory within the 1967 map of the Republic of Biafra.”

“We the indigenes of the bight of Biafra have endured enough sorrow, tears and bloodshed.”
