The Village Boys Movement (VBM) has intensified its nationwide organisational expansion with the appointment of State Headmasters for the South-East geopolitical zone, describing the development as another milestone in its drive to deepen grassroots mobilisation, strengthen internal structures, and expand its presence across communities in Nigeria.

The appointments were announced in an official statement issued by the National Leadership of the movement and signed by the National Village Headmaster, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, who said the decision reflects the organisation’s commitment to building a stronger and more coordinated leadership structure capable of driving its programmes at the state and community levels.

According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect and form part of a carefully planned nationwide leadership rollout that will eventually cover every geopolitical zone in the country.

The newly appointed State Headmasters for the South-East are:

Abia State: Barr. Mrs. Commy Madumere

Anambra State: Hon. Pedro Ofodile

Enugu State: Comrade Chuma Amadife

Imo State: Anthony Uchenna Nge

Ebonyi State: Mrs. Florence Ndidi

The Village Boys Movement explained that the appointments are intended to strengthen coordination across the South-East while creating a more effective leadership framework that will improve communication between state chapters and the National Leadership.

According to the organisation, each State Headmaster will serve as the principal coordinator of the movement within his or her respective state. Their responsibilities will include overseeing state activities, supervising local structures, coordinating mobilisation efforts, and ensuring that the objectives and programmes of the movement are effectively implemented.

The National Leadership noted that one of the immediate priorities for the newly appointed officials will be the consolidation of existing state structures to ensure unity among members and eliminate any divisions that could affect the organisation’s growth.

The statement stressed that where multiple groups or factions currently exist within state chapters, the State Headmasters have been mandated to work toward reconciliation, integration, and the establishment of unified leadership capable of advancing the movement’s collective goals.

Beyond internal administration, the State Headmasters have also been assigned the responsibility of driving grassroots mobilisation across towns, villages, and local government areas within their states.

The organisation believes that meaningful national development begins at the community level and has therefore placed significant emphasis on grassroots engagement as a core aspect of its long-term strategy.

As part of their assignment, the appointees are expected to encourage wider citizen participation in civic activities while promoting greater awareness of democratic values and responsible voter participation.

The National Leadership explained that increasing voter education and civic engagement remains an important aspect of the movement’s activities as it seeks to encourage more Nigerians to actively participate in democratic processes through peaceful and lawful means.

The statement also directed the newly appointed State Headmasters to establish efficient reporting mechanisms that will keep the National Leadership regularly informed about activities, membership growth, organisational challenges, and progress within their respective states.

According to the movement, consistent communication between state chapters and the national headquarters will improve decision-making and ensure that programmes are implemented more effectively across the federation.

The Village Boys Movement described the South-East appointments as the first phase of a broader nationwide restructuring exercise designed to position the organisation for sustained growth.

It stated that appointments for the remaining geopolitical zones are already being finalised and will be announced in the coming weeks as part of the organisation’s continuing expansion programme.

The National Leadership expressed confidence in the capacity of the newly appointed State Headmasters to provide effective leadership and strengthen the movement’s presence across the South-East.

It congratulated each of the appointees and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with commitment, discipline, transparency, and a strong sense of service.

According to the statement, the success of the movement depends largely on effective leadership at the grassroots, where community engagement and public participation remain essential to achieving organisational objectives.

The leadership further encouraged members across the South-East to support the newly appointed officials by working together in an atmosphere of unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility.

It emphasised that cooperation among members would be crucial in building vibrant state chapters capable of implementing programmes that reflect the vision and mission of the Village Boys Movement.

Observers note that many organisations seeking nationwide relevance often begin by strengthening their grassroots structures through decentralised leadership appointments. Such arrangements allow for improved coordination, faster communication, better community engagement, and more efficient implementation of organisational policies across different regions.

For the Village Boys Movement, the appointment of State Headmasters represents another step in consolidating its organisational framework while expanding its influence at the state and community levels.

The movement reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, community participation, inclusive leadership, and sustained grassroots mobilisation across Nigeria.

It maintained that establishing strong state leadership structures would enable the organisation to respond more effectively to local challenges, coordinate membership activities, and build stronger relationships with communities throughout the country.

With the South-East appointments now officially concluded, attention is expected to shift toward the announcement of State Headmasters for the remaining geopolitical zones as the Village Boys Movement continues implementing its nationwide expansion strategy.

The statement concluded by reiterating the National Leadership’s confidence that the newly appointed officials will uphold the ideals of the organisation while working diligently to strengthen its structures, expand membership, encourage civic participation, and advance the overall vision of the Village Boys Movement.

The announcement was signed by Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, National Village Headmaster of the Village Boys Movement, on behalf of the National Leadership.
