A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after it showed a Nigerian man fatally shooting three young men with an AK-47 rifle.
The clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Jack_ng01 (Jack The Builder), depicts the man accusing the victims of using his gun to carry out robberies and home invasions.
Speaking in a mix of Igbo, Pidgin, and English, the gunman claimed the young men took his weapon without permission.
Despite their pleas for mercy one repeatedly insisting he had no involvement the shooter ignored them.
He fired multiple rounds at the victims, killing them one after the other.
At least two of the young men had their hands chained together in the video.
“This Will Be a Lesson,” Shooter Says
The gunman, whose face is not visible, justified the killings as a warning to others.
“I’m telling you now, this one will be a lesson to each and every one of you. You people think I am joking right? From today, anybody who dares take my iron (gun) for robbery must receive it hot,” he said before shooting.
As he continued firing at the victims, he shouted angrily:
“It is happening, look at it, it is happening! Thunder fire all of you there! You people think I am playing with you!”
SaharaReporters, which first published the footage, noted it could not independently verify the location of the incident or the identities of those involved.
Attempts to reach the original poster of the video for clarification were unsuccessful as of the time of reporting.
The footage has triggered heated debate online, with many Nigerians demanding immediate action from security agencies.
Others have expressed shock at the brazenness of the killings carried out in broad daylight and recorded on video.
Authorities have not issued an official statement on the incident.
