A video attributed to the extremist group Boko Haram has surfaced online, in which the militants threaten further attacks and issue warnings directed at communities in Nigeria and beyond.

The footage, which began circulating widely on April 14, was reportedly recorded earlier in the month. It was first shared online by Daniel Somtochukwu, a former member of Nigeria’s special forces, on his official X account.

In the video, armed men dressed in camouflage claim their actions are rooted in their interpretation of religious doctrine.

They warn of continued violence, stating that more attacks are planned, particularly in parts of northeastern Nigeria such as Borno State.

The threats come amid ongoing security concerns in the region, where Boko Haram and its splinter groups have carried out years of insurgency, targeting civilians, security forces and infrastructure.

The latest video follows a series of other releases by the group in recent weeks, including footage showing kidnapped victim’s men, women and children heightening fears about renewed activity and the safety of residents in affected areas.

Security agencies have not yet issued an official response to the latest video, but authorities have consistently urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

The insurgency, which has persisted for over a decade, continues to pose a major challenge to Nigeria’s security, particularly in the northeast, where communities remain vulnerable to attacks and abductions.
