Voting In Progress: Peaceful Conduct Recorded At Upper Iweka, Onitsha North LGA

(DDM) — Voting is currently underway at Polling Unit 008, Ward IV, Odoakpu, Upper Iweka Road, Onitsha North Local Government Area, with reports confirming a peaceful and orderly process so far.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that INEC officials arrived early, with BVAS machines functioning smoothly and accreditation proceeding without any major hitches.

Voters were seen queuing patiently under the supervision of security personnel, who ensured that the environment remained calm and secure.

Several observers commended the efficient crowd control and transparent coordination by both INEC staff and party agents present at the polling unit.

An elderly voter, Mrs. Nneka Okafor, told DDM that this year’s exercise appeared “better organized than previous elections,” noting that “the process is moving fast, and people are cooperating well.”

Security operatives, including members of the Nigeria Police Force and the Civil Defence Corps, were sighted maintaining order along Upper Iweka Road, with restrictions on vehicular movement strictly enforced.

According to field reports, similar peaceful voting patterns are being recorded across other polling units in Onitsha North, Onitsha South, and Awka South LGAs.

The Obidient Movement, local observers, and election monitors have continued to encourage voters to stay vigilant and protect the integrity of the ballot while maintaining peace throughout the process.
