‘War will be met with war’: Khamenei sends chilling greetings to Trump

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the United States against joining the conflict between Iran and Israel.

In a fiery statement on X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Khamenei threatened full retaliation against any American military involvement in the war.

He said plainly: “War will be met with war. Strike with strike. Bombing with bombing.”

The message was also published by Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency shortly after sunrise in Tehran.

This follows six days of escalating strikes between Israel and Iran, after Israel’s surprise bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities last Friday.

Khamenei accused the U.S. of backing Israel’s “aggression” and warned that any further involvement would cause “irreparable damage” to U.S. interests.

He wrote, “No wise person speaks to Iran with the language of threats or force.”

Iran, he said, will never surrender to foreign pressure and will resist until its final breath.

This warning comes after U.S. President Donald Trump demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” in a post on social media.

Trump claimed the U.S. knows the exact location of Ayatollah Khamenei and hinted at possible assassination if Iran resists.

He called on Iran to surrender or face total destruction, sparking alarm among allies and adversaries alike.

Iranian officials called Trump’s post “a cowardly assassination threat” and accused Washington of inciting targeted political murder.

Khamenei’s response was a direct rebuttal, delivered as air sirens sounded again in Tehran, Haifa, and Tel Aviv.

Iran continues to retaliate with drone and missile attacks, targeting Israeli airfields, chemical plants, and radar stations.

Israel claims it has neutralized over 80% of incoming attacks but confirmed casualties and infrastructure damage in the south.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps said the next wave of strikes will be deeper and more coordinated.

Tehran’s military has been placed on full war footing, as thousands of volunteers mobilize across Iranian provinces.

Meanwhile, Diaspora Digital Media reported that the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that American forces in the Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean are now on maximum alert.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the military is “prepared to execute any presidential order.”

Though he refused to confirm whether strike plans on Iran had been finalized, he made clear that options exist.

Analysts fear any U.S. military involvement could turn the Iran-Israel fight into a full regional or even global conflict.

Khamenei’s language is being read as a final warning to Washington before possible direct confrontation begins.
