In one incident, gunmen ambushed and killed eight security personnel, including soldiers and policemen, in Umualumaku community.

The Imo State Police Command and other security agencies have been responding to these attacks, with some successes in repelling attacks and recovering arms and ammunition

The attacks have resulted in significant loss of life, including security personnel and civilians.

At least 30 people were killed in a single attack on travelers in Imo State.
