Wunmi, di widow of late singer Mohbad don agree to do DNA test for her pikin

Wunmi, di widow of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has expressed readiness to finally conduct a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test to determine di paternity of di son, Liam October 28, 2024.
According to report, ecall dat Mohbad died at di age of 27, wit circumstances surrounding his death sparking controvasies on social media Liam October 28.
Wunmi don also been at loggerheads wit di deceased singer’s fadir, Joseph Aloba, ova di issue of conducting a DNA test for his grandson.
In di application filed by di legal team to Joseph, di family sought an order to serve Wunmi by posting all di originating processes and oda processes in di suit on di last-known address of di respondent.
However, di family’s legal team, led by Emmanuel Oroko, argued dat attempts to serve Wunmi failed.
Di Magistrates Court, during its sitting on July 9, 2024, in di Ikorodu area of Lagos State, directed both parties to explore an alternative dispute resolution, leading to closed-door negotiations dat also failed to yield an agreement.
A representative of di family’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu, said in a statement obtained by Punch dat Wunmi had agreed to carry out di DNA.
Odumosu said di latest development was followed by di settlement terms drafted by both parties.
According to Odumosu, Mohbad’s wife agreed in di settlement terms dat di DNA test be conducted in a recognized and accredited government or private medical facility witin Lagos State or anoda agreeable hospital outside di state.
Di lawyer also noted dat Mohbad’s fadir had agreed to bear di cost of di test processes and oda associated fees.
Di statement read, “Emmanuel Oroko informed di court dat both parties had settled outside di court and are ready to move di terms of di settlement already filed and served on Wunmi Aloba’s lawyers.
In response, Kabir Akingbolu, Esq. (leading Adams Atata Esq. and M.K.O Orire Esq.) concurred, and di court adopted di terms of settlement as di judgment of di court.
“In di terms filed before di court, di respondent, Wunmi Aloba, consented to submit herself and her son, (Master Liam Aloba).
For di conduct of a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) at Two (2) recognised and accredited govanment or private medical facilities witin Lagos State or odir agreeable hospital outside Lagos State.
In turn, di applicant, Mr. Joseph Aloba, agreed to bear di cost of di DNA test processes, including di fees for di testing facility, di collection of samples, and any associated legal or administrative fees.
“Di court furdir ordered dat di Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test be conducted at a mutually agreed-upon laboratory or medical centre witin Naija.
To ensure and ascertain di reliability of di test, di court furdir appointed some officers to supervise di process of di DNA test.”
