Xavi names greatest talent in Spanish football history

Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez has named his former teammate, Andres Iniesta, as the greatest talent in Spanish football history.

Xavi said this while praising Iniesta for playing his 1000th career game.

Iniesta is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in football history.

The 39-year-old formed a terrific partnership with Xavi at Barcelona for more than a decade.

Having joined his current club, Emirates Club in the UAE last summer, Iniesta played his 1000th career game on Friday in a 2-0 loss at Ajman Club in the UAE Pro League.

Speaking ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga trip to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, Xavi said (as per Barca Universal): “He is the greatest talent I have ever seen in Spanish football.

“He is also a friend. I congratulate him on his 1,000 games. He is one of the best footballers in history.”
