Yaba DPO Dies In Fatal Road Accident, Son Escapes Death

DPO in charge of Yaba Police Division in Ondo Town, Ondo State, Mr. Aminu Mustapha was, on Monday confirmed dead following a fatal motor accident.

The Acting Divisional Police Officer in charge of Yaba Police Division in Ondo Town, Ondo State, Mr. Aminu Mustapha was, on Monday confirmed dead following a fatal motor accident.

The incident was confirmed to newsmen by the state Police Public Relations Officer [PPRO], Mr. Femi Joseph.

According to Mr. Joseph, Late Mr Mustapha died in a fatal motor accident on Ondo/Ore Expressway at Omifon area in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday evening.

He was reportedly travelling in a Toyota Camry car to visit his family members when the accident occurred.

Hi son, who was travelling with him, however, escaped with some injuries and is in the hospital receiving treatment.

According to reports, the car somersaulted while he was at top speed resulting to an instant death.

The report said that the Late Mustapha was transferred to the Yaba Police Division recently in an acting capacity after the former DPO was transferred.

The Police PPRO said the deceased was a diligent and disciplined officer.

He said: “The death of Mustapha came to us as a rude shock, we will greatly miss him in this Command.”

He, however, stated that the Late Mustapha did not die in controversial circumstances as being reported in some social media.

Rather, he said, “Mustapha died in a fatal motor accident.”
