In a significant escalation, Yemeni Armed Forces attacked U.S. naval vessels, including the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier.

Iranian state news agency IRNA confirmed the strike, stating it was a response to American military operations in Yemen.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that drones and cruise missiles were used in the assault, marking another phase of growing hostilities in the region.

A statement from Yemeni military officials on Tuesday confirmed that the attack involved coordinated efforts from multiple armed forces.

The Naval Forces, Rocket Forces, and Air Force of Yemen all played a role in executing the assault.

Yemeni authorities accused the United States of aggression and warned that retaliatory attacks would continue without hesitation.

“Our military operations against the American enemy will persist, increasing in intensity within the operational zone, God willing,” the statement declared.

The Yemeni Armed Forces also emphasized their intention to target maritime activity connected to Israel in the Red Sea.

Israeli-linked vessels in the Arabian Sea were also listed as potential targets in future strikes.

Yemen’s military stated that strategic and military locations associated with Israel would remain in their crosshairs.

They aim to pressure Israel into ending its military actions in Gaza and lifting the blockade.

Tensions in the region have increased since the war in Gaza erupted in October 2023.

Yemen’s Houthi-led forces, backed by Iran, have launched multiple attacks on U.S. and allied naval assets.

The Houthis claim their strikes are part of a larger campaign supporting Palestine against Israeli and Western military actions.

Most of these attacks have been aimed at vessels with direct or indirect links to Israel and its allies.

The United States has responded with military operations targeting Houthi positions within Yemen.

Washington argues these actions are essential for protecting international maritime security and global trade routes.

The Houthis insist that the U.S. military presence in the Red Sea is a direct act of aggression.

This dispute has resulted in a cycle of attacks and counterattacks between Yemen and Western forces.

Casualties and damage reports

Recent U.S. airstrikes on Hudaydah province have resulted in casualties, according to Yemen’s Health Ministry.

Ministry spokesperson Anees Alasbahi confirmed that American forces hit a water management facility in the al-Mansouriyah district.

Three people were initially reported dead, with two others suffering injuries.

Later reports from Al-Masirah TV stated that the death toll had risen to four.

The continued escalation in the Red Sea has heightened concerns over international maritime safety.

Global trade routes passing through the area remain vulnerable to disruption from military confrontations.

Both sides remain steadfast in their positions, indicating that further attacks are likely inevitable.
