Yobe police neutralize armed robbers, recover stolen N16.5m in Ngalda market attack

The Yobe State police command has neutralized three armed robbers involved in a robbery attack on the Ngalda marke.
They also recovered a locally-made pistol during the operation.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the development in a statement released to Diaspora digital media (DDM)
He revealed that the robbers were killed during a gunfire exchange with police officers.
Three other robbers managed to escape with severe injuries.
The gang leader, identified as Alhaji Dadji, a native of Ngalda, was arrested.
Abdulkarim disclosed that the robbers killed seven people, injured 11 others, and stole N16.5 million during the attack.
This robbery incident occurred on Monday at the Ngalda market.
The police quickly responded to the scene, engaging in a gunfight with the robbers.
The bodies of the deceased victims and the injured were taken to Fika General Hospital for medical attention and forensic examination.
In response to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Garba Ahmed, ordered a full-scale investigation to track down the fleeing robbers.
He also urged residents of Yobe State to remain calm and assist the police by providing useful information.
This information will aid in the ongoing investigations.
The police command expressed condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic attack.
