Yorubas Will Hold Top Policy Positions If I Become President – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has assured that Yorubas will occupy a top place in his policy making if he becomes Nigeria’s president in 2027.

Atiku, now a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), described Yorubas as one of the finest and most sophisticated people in the world.

He made the pledge in a statement signed by his media consultant, Kola Johnson.

Atiku recalled that his first wife, Titi Abubakar, is a Yoruba woman whom he married in the 1970s. They share four children together, and she is now over 75 years old.

“My children with Titi sometimes call me Baba rere, meaning good father. I am extremely in love with my children and proud to serve as a good father,” he said.

He described his Ijesha-born wife as his “Jewel of Inestimable Value” and credited his marital union with strengthening his bond with the Yoruba community.

Atiku dismissed fears that his presidency would favor Hausa-Fulani domination.

“The Yorubas are my extended family and in-laws.

Their interest will always remain at the top of my governance and policy priorities if Allah grants me victory in 2027,” he declared.

Atiku added that Yorubas are too enlightened to be sidelined in national affairs.

The ADC presidential hopeful emphasized his record as a detribalized politician.

“Even before politics, I mixed freely with people of all backgrounds. I have always been like a politician without borders,” he said.

Atiku insisted that Yorubas rank among his closest friends and associates in both his private and public life.

As campaigns gradually build towards 2027, Atiku’s remarks appear aimed at cementing Yoruba support.

He stressed that his administration would reflect Nigeria’s diversity while giving Yorubas a “special place” because of his personal ties.
