Peter Obi has clearly stated that he will run for president in 2027, refusing to pursue the Vice Presidency.

Furthermore, he dismissed circulating rumors suggesting he would team up with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, emphasizing his independence.

During an appearance on “Channels TV’s Sunday Politics,” Obi firmly stated, “Nobody has discussed a running mate role with me.”

He emphasized that he actively contests for the presidency because he believes he is fully qualified for this important role.

Throughout his campaign, Obi highlights his experience, dedication, and readiness to lead the nation effectively.

Therefore, he confidently asserts that he is not only running but also possesses the necessary qualifications for the presidency.

The former Anambra governor also addressed discussions about opposition parties uniting under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He insisted that this move does not mean abandoning the Labour Party. “There’s nothing anti-party here,” he explained clearly.

Obi emphasized that they are working together while remaining committed to their goals.

He stressed that leadership requires inclusivity, dismissing critics who question his alliances.

“A leader must engage everyone,” Obi stated firmly, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in effective leadership.

He added, “If you want to serve, you cannot exclude people,” highlighting the need for collaboration.

Additionally, he criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, vowing to replace it through lawful means and democratic processes.

“We’ll remove this government democratically,” Obi declared confidently, expressing his commitment to change.

Moreover, he assured the public, “My leadership will be lawful, competent, and transparent,” reinforcing his dedication to effective governance.

His focus remains on rallying support for accountable governance and a collective push for progress.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, his stance sets the stage for a heated contest centered on reform and national renewal.

The political landscape is shifting, and Obi’s unwavering ambition ensures he remains a key figure in Nigeria’s unfolding democratic journey.

With opposition forces consolidating, the battle for 2027 promises to be a defining moment for the nation’s future.
