Nigerian streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has sparked reactions after sharing his thoughts on the realities behind online fame.
Speaking about the experience of DJ Chicken, Peller recalled being present when the entertainer was reportedly taken to Kirikiri prison, noting how different the situation was from the online persona many fans are used to.
“I was there when DJ Chicken was sent to Kirikiri prison, he was humble. All his fans and people on his livestream were not there, he went to face the reality alone,” he said.
Peller used the moment to caution against relying too heavily on social media validation, pointing out that the support people receive online often does not translate to real-life situations.
“They said we’re idiots not celebrities. Everybody will be pushing you online but you’ll suffer alone,” he added.
His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many agreeing that social media fame can be misleading, while others debated the responsibilities that come with influence and public attention.
