Young woman found dead at Abuja construction site

Authorities in Abuja have confirmed the death of a young woman in what is believed to be a case of suicide at a construction site within CITEC Estate, Life Camp area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to the FCT Police Command, the body was discovered around 7am on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, hanging from a container at the site.

The report was filed by the estate’s Chief Security Officer (CSO).

Following the report, police detectives were dispatched to the scene. They documented the body and noted there were no visible injuries or signs of foul play.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed that the woman was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jabi, where she was officially confirmed dead by medical personnel.

Her remains have been deposited at the mortuary for an autopsy.

A mobile phone was also recovered from her pocket, although it was locked with a password.

The police have since launched a full investigation to determine the events leading to her death.
