Zahara Jolie, the 21-year-old daughter of Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has taken legal steps to officially modify her name, filing a petition to remove “Pitt” from her surname.
Court filings submitted in Los Angeles indicate that she is seeking to change her name from Zahara Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie, a move that aligns with how she has identified herself in recent public appearances.
The decision follows earlier instances in which Zahara opted not to use her full surname. In 2023, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie during a sorority event at Spelman College, and she reportedly maintained the same name format during her college graduation ceremony this year.
Zahara is one of six children from the former marriage of Jolie and Pitt, who separated in 2016 after two years of marriage and several years together. Their split led to prolonged legal proceedings involving custody and shared assets.
Reports have also suggested that some of her siblings have, at various times, chosen to distance themselves from the “Pitt” surname in public settings, though no formal legal changes have been confirmed for them.
The development marks another chapter in the evolving family dynamics following one of Hollywood’s most high-profile separations.
