Bandits on Sunday April 27, 2025, invaded Galadi community in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, injuring two persons and abducting several residents.

A banditry security analyst, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident on Monday April 28, 2025, through his verified X (formerly Twitter) platform.

According to him, the bandits stormed the village around midnight, shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents.

“Yesterday night, bandits attacked Galadi community, Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State,” Bakatsine posted.

“They injured two people and abducted several people, including a pregnant woman and a nursing mother,” he added.

Residents said the attackers operated for several hours without any security intervention.

Witnesses reported that the heavily armed bandits moved from house to house, dragging victims from their homes.

Some villagers fled into nearby bushes to escape the attackers.

An eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, said the bandits carted away valuables, including food items and livestock.

The community has since remained tense, with many families still searching for missing relatives.

As of press time, the Zamfara State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack.

Local sources said the abducted victims include women, children, and elderly persons.

Residents lamented the frequent attacks in Shinkafi axis despite ongoing military operations in the region.

They appealed to the government to deploy more security personnel to rural communities.

Galadi community leaders have reportedly begun compiling the names of those abducted.

Some residents urged the state government to initiate peace talks or enhance military operations.

Zamfara State has remained one of the hardest-hit states by banditry over the last decade.

The latest attack comes weeks after similar raids in Tsafe and Zurmi Local Government Areas.

In those incidents, dozens of villagers were kidnapped and hundreds displaced.

Analysts said the bandits’ tactics now focus on mass abductions, especially targeting vulnerable groups.

Meanwhile, families of the abducted victims have begun organizing prayers for their safe return.

The attack on Galadi underscores the urgent need for sustainable solutions to rural insecurity.

Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of persons kidnapped during the latest assault.

Residents await government response as fear and uncertainty grip the community.

This is a developing story.

More details shortly.
