Back home, growing voices across the political spectrum have continued to align with this call for equity, restoration, and responsible governance.

From Orlu Zone, Prince Izunna Obiefule (JP), a respected youth leader and community mobilizer, declared that “former Governor Ikedi Ohakim stands out as the best among all aspirants for the position.”

He emphasized that Governor Hope Uzodinma should hand over to a seasoned, experienced administrator capable of consolidating gains and restoring institutional governance.

“We are not in a time for experimentation or emotion-driven politics. Imo needs healing, and Ohakim is the physician. We appeal to our brothers in Owerri Zone to hearken to the voice of reason and support the restoration of equity and continuity,” Prince Obiefule added.

The endorsement from Ogbako Imo Europe follows a growing consensus across the three senatorial zones.

Prince Bob Njemanze, revered statesman from the Njemanze royal dynasty of Owerri, remarked recently that “justice must be done for Okigwe Zone,” noting that Ohakim’s return would restore balance to the disrupted political architecture of the state.

Dr. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe, a respected public intellectual from Owerri, echoed that sentiment: “Okigwe Zone has unfinished business. And no one symbolizes that more credibly than Ohakim.”

Similarly, Arc. Amaugo Ugoji, another respected figure from Owerri Zone, added: “I wouldn’t mind another tenure for Okigwe Zone under Ohakim. His administration remains the best we’ve seen in terms of aesthetics, order, and governance.”

From the public sector and artistic community, additional endorsements have poured in:

Hon. Longers Anyanwu, former commissioner and political analyst, declared:

“Ohakim’s return would mark a reset of governance to the days of accountability, planning, and delivery. He governed without bitterness, had clear vision, and left behind programs that still resonate.”

Chief Paddy Obinna, cultural ambassador and senior Owerri son, noted:

“The kind of order, beauty, and civility we saw under Ohakim’s ‘Clean and Green’ vision has never been replicated. He is a man of ideas and aesthetics, and Imo desperately needs that kind of refinement in governance again.”

*An Unfinished Mandate*

Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, who governed from 2007 to 2011, is widely credited for pioneering Imo’s environmental reforms, the introduction of IROMA, the 10,000 Jobs Scheme, and the foundational design of the Imo Freeway.

His abrupt exit in 2011, many argue, disrupted the continuity of development and institutional planning. Ogbako Imo Europe insists that 2027 presents “a historic chance to correct a political injustice and restore good governance in Imo.”

“Let no one deceive the people again with emotion-laden campaigns or ethnic blackmail. The facts speak for themselves: Imo was cleaner, safer, and more organized under Ohakim,” said Dr. Chinyere Duruaku, President of Ogbako Imo Europe.”

*Toward a United Imo 2027*”

With diaspora leaders, influential voices from Orlu, Owerri, and Okigwe, and increasing youth support, Ohakim’s anticipated return is fast gaining the structure of a movement rather than just a candidacy.

Observers say that if Ohakim declares officially, he may become the rallying point for a genuine power rotation that respects the Charter of Equity, enhances unity, and restores trust in governance.
