3 killed, others injured as Dangote truck rams into Lagos market

Three people have been killed in a tragic accident involving a Dangote Cement truck.

Also, the crash left several others injured at Ayetoro Junction along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos State.

The incident occurred on November 11, 2024.

The truck was reportedly descending from Ita-Opo when it lost control and crashed into a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before landing in the market.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived to manage the situation and provide medical assistance.

A tow truck was deployed to clear the wreckage, while authorities set up temporary traffic diversions to ease congestion and ensure commuter safety.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement.

It said the bodies of the three deceased victims have been taken to the Epe General Hospital morgue.

“3 lives were lost and they’ve been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital while we have a Tow truck on ground to evacuate the affected vehicles.

“Traffic has been diverted for easy vehicular movement,” the statement reads.
