According to am, di activities of over 500 iron scavengers wey invade di demolished building, pull down and carry iron rods, cause di remaining part of di demolished slab to fall on dem.

Mohammed, wey talk say rescue operations don finish for di site, deny report for some media wey talk say one multi-storey building collapse for di area on Saturday wit more dan 40 pipo trapped under di rubble.

E talk say di building na among di illegally built uncompleted structures wey FCT Department of Development Control demolish on Thursday.

“Di scavengers invade di site to collect iron rods wen di remaining part of di demolished structure fall.

Nobody dey live for di building as some reports talk.

“We dey here last night and we dey here today again.”

“Di Chairman of Miyetti Allah for Abuja municipal dey here wit us and e confirm say dem lose five of di members for di incident.”

“As you fit see, nobody dey fight here as some pipo talk,” e talk.

Mohammed show him disappointment for di activities of di scavengers, wey still dey destroy odir demolished buildings despite di tragic incident.

“Right now as we dey talk, some of dem still dey up dire dey scavenging iron rod, dem don tell dem make dem comot but dem refuse to listen.”

“We go make sure say dem comot for di site.”

“By Monday, di Development Control go come around to make sure say di remaining buildings go come down completely,” e talk.

One Police Officer for di site, tell NAN say di scavengers invade di site afta di Development Control Dept. don finish di demolition work.

One eye witness, Mr Aliyu Musa, talk say di iron scavengers don warn no go enter di building, but dem no wan hear.

Di Director of di department, Mr Mukhtar Galadima, tell newsmen for Abuja on Sunday say di report na “just propaganda”.

Di department don start di demolition of illegal buildings for lands wey land grabbers don acquire illegally for Sabon Lugbe since October 17.

Dem dey demolish total of 50 duplexes and bungalows to make sure say dem recover di land well well.

Galadima, wey lead di exercise, don explain say di structures na illegal buildings wey land grabbers don build witout approval from di right authorities.

E explain say di illegal construction for di southwest area of Sabon Lugbe na part of Phase 5 District of di Federal Capital City (FCC).

Di FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, wey order di demolition, show say e dey vex say di investors don enter di site come start development witout di right approvals.

Di minister insist say all land must recover from di grabbers.

Meanwhile, one statement from di Police Public Relations Officer of di Police Command for FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, talk say total of five pipo don rescue from di debris, add say no report of any death.

“In light of dis incident, we dey urge di public make dem respect di boundaries of demolished structures and construction sites, to prevent similar things from happening again for di future,” Adeh talk for di statement.
