FIFA President Gianni Infantino advocates an automatic forfeit of games for teams whose fans engage in racist abuse

Infantino’s call for tougher action on racism follows Repugnant incidents at Udinese and Sheffield Wednesday matches on Saturday.

AC Milan’s win at Udinese was temporarily halted due to alleged racist abuse towards Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan from home fans.

Coventry’s Kasey Palmer also reported similar abuse at Hillsborough.

In response, FIFA President called for harsher punishments, including automatic forfeit for the team whose fans engage in racism and cause the match to be abandoned, as well as worldwide stadium bans and criminal charges for racists.

FIFA and football community stand in solidarity with victims of racism and discrimination.

Gianni condemned the racist incidents that took place during the Udinese and Sheffield Wednesday matches and called for stronger action against racism.

Including automatic forfeit for the team whose fans engage in racism and cause the match to be abandoned, worldwide stadium bans, and criminal charges for racists.

AC Milan’s players walked off the pitch after hearing monkey noises from the crowd at the Stadio Friuli.

FIFA President called for stronger action against racism, including education in schools.

The incident led to the match being stopped for several minutes while the match officials spoke to both managers.

Wednesday confirmed the gesture was made by someone in the stands and that anyone found culpable would face the strictest possible sanctions.
