University of Lagos (Unilag) has said that the institution spent at least N525 million on electricity bills within the last eight months.
According to document obtained by our correspondent on 2016 budget performance of the institution, the institution internally generated N3 billion and spent it on projects.
The report indicated that the institution used N358 million to pay electricity charges .
Meanwhile, N167 million was spent on diesel in 8 months an equivalent of N20 million on diesel per months in Unilag.
The sources that made up N3 billion generated internally by the institution are Receipts from students N732 million, university enterprise- N670 million other receipt – N1.6 billion.
