President Bola Tinubu has urged the Super Eagles to improve their performance and do better in the final stages of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The message was conveyed through the Minister of Sports, John Enoh, who spoke to the players from Abuja via Zoom on Wednesday night in Abidjan.

According to Enoh, the President expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance during the group stage and urged them to do better in the upcoming match.

He also emphasized that the President is closely following their progress and has a good understanding of the game.

In response, team captain Ahmed Musa thanked the sports minister but also called on the President to come and watch them play live, as it would serve as a motivation for the players.

The Super Eagles will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the last 16 of the tournament on Saturday at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidja.

With the President’s message in mind, the team will be looking to step up their game and put on an impressive performance in the upcoming match.

The President’s message is a clear indication of the importance of the tournament to the country and the need for the team to perform well.

The Super Eagles have a rich history in the tournament and will be looking to add to their trophy cabinet this year.
