Former chairman of Ezeagu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called on lawyers that have the attention of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami to pressure him to produce the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in Court on October 21, 2021.

The former Ezeagu NBA chairman made the call on Monday ahead of the NBA confab coming up in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

According to the NBA stalwart, the call was to avert the impending one month lock down threatened by IPOB across the South East if Nnamdi Kanu is not produced in court.

He also expressed concerns that the one month lock down may affect the NBA confab, especially for those wishing to attend and may be travelling by road.

Speaking in a WhatsApp group, he said: “Gentlemen, please on behalf of some of us who are concerned, we plead that NBA put in their little pressure on the Attorney General of the Federation to ensure that Nnamdi Kalu is produced in Court on 21st Oct.

“This is because if IPOB carries out their threat to lock down the south east for one month in the event of federal government failure to produce him in court, that will be bye-bye to our attending the NBA confab in Port Harcourt, especially for those physically attending and coming by road.

“Even if you beat it and come a day before 21st October, certainly you must come back after the conference and their threat is to lock down the region for one month.
