The head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has been fired by Nigeria Football Federation
The decision to dismiss the Franco-German coach was taken after a company associated with the senior National team of Nigeria, agreed to pay the termination clause in the contract of the coach.
The Nigeria football Federation (NFF) have transmitted the decision to the former Niger and Burkina Faso coach, and have started scouting for a new coach who will manage the affairs of the team for the 2022 World Cup Play offs, and also the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon next year.
Rohr has been vehemently criticized for struggling to qualify Nigeria for African Cup of Nations tournament and world cup despite having a star-studded team
Nigeria is billed to face any of Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali or DR Congo for a place at Qatar 2022
Meanwhile, his sack is coming after the former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu called for his immediate removal as the head coach
