Nigerian governor express outrage at killings, abductions by bandits

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina state has strongly condemned the recent attack by bandits in Mairuwa town, Faskari Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals and the abduction of others.

The Governor expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and condemned the heinous act committed by the bandits.

During the attack, the bandits killed Alhaji Abdulhamid (known as Lado Mairuwa) and Sani Abdullahi.

Despite failing to abduct Alhaji Lado Mairuwa, they kidnapped one of his wives and his 14-year-old daughter.

The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, described the incident as cruel and called for it to be condemned.

The Governor prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace and for the safe return of those who were abducted.

He assured the citizens of the government’s commitment to protecting their lives and property.

He also urged the people to pray for peace, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

The son of Alhaji Lado Mairuwa recounted the harrowing experience of the attack, where his father and a neighbor were killed, and family members were abducted.

The residents of the area appreciated the Governor’s efforts in addressing security challenges but called on the Federal Government to take decisive action against the bandits in the region.

Late Alhaji Lado Mairuwa, a prominent farmer and businessman, left behind multiple family members, while his neighbor, Sani Abdullahi, is survived by his wives and children.
