The President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has denied some social media reports that a veteran actor Zack Orji is dead.

The alleged demise of the actor sparked a frenzy online on Tuesday morning, with many erroneously believing the fake news.

But in swift reaction, the guild described the alleged death as mere social media rumours.

Rollas, in a rebuttal said: “Mr. Zack Orji is alive. Please disregard the malicious rumors being spread by mischief makers who derive pleasure from circulating false information.”

Further expressing his displeasure over the rumours, Rollas added, “this is a stark example of how cruel some individuals can be. It is utterly unacceptable.

“Zack Orji will not succumb to such fabrications but will continue to live and proclaim the goodness of God in Jesus’ name.”

The rumour had emerged just weeks and days following the passing of other esteemed actors, Amaechi Muonagor, who had tragically lost his battle to kidney failure, and John Okafor aka Mr Ibu who passed away after battling multiple organ failure.
