Tension is mounting in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Nnewi chapter, over the rejection of Mr Mbazuruike Iloka popular known as MbaMba by APGA ward 3 Uruagu Nnewi.
MbaMba defected to APGA after betraying Senator Dr Ikemba Ifeanyi Ubah on the eve of the November 6 Anambra state governorship election.
Yesterday, APGA leaders and members in his ward refused to receive him into the party. This was contained in a letter written to Hon Chike Agwuncha, Chairman, APGA, Nnewi North LGA by leaders of APGA ward 3 Uruagu Nnewi.
MbaMba was the state coordinator of AfaIgboEfuna founded by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. AfaIgboEfuna was the major political structure which Senator Ubah used to deliver Chief Willie Obiano in 2017.
AfaIgboEfuna also played a major role in electing Senator Ubah from an unknown party, YPP into the Senate in Anambra south senatorial zone in 2019.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in order to concentrate at the Senate and deliver his campaign promises to ndi Anambra south, handed the structures of AfaIgboEfuna to Mr Mbazuruike Iloka.
MbaMba turned AfaIgboEfuna to his milk ticket. It became his money making machine. He merchandised and cornered the most popular political movement in Anambra state to himself. Senator Ifeanyi Ubah erroneously trusted him and gave him everything to pull through.
But as a political merchant, MbaMba used AfaIgboEfuna to negotiate with APGA. And on the eve of the November 6 Anambra state governorship election, MbaMba pulled out from Senator Ifeanyi Ubah governorship project. As an insider, he sold out the game plan of the Open Door Revolution Agenda.
Painfully, MbaMba used the structures of AfaIgboEfuna to broadcast on the morning of the election that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah had collapsed his campaign ambition and stepped down for the APGA candidate. This threw so much confusion into the camp of YPP. Many believed him, knowing that he was very close to the YPP candidate. It was late before the news got to YPP that MbaMba had sold out.
After the election, Senator Ubah congratulated Prof Soludo and moved on and left those who betrayed him in the hands of God.
Yesterday, God answered and disgraced MbaMba as his own APGA ward leaders refused to accept him into APGA.
No one trusts him any longer. The same way he betrayed Ifeanyi Ubah, he will betray again and again.
