The captain of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, John Mikel Obi has, on Thursday, announced his retirement from the national team.
Mikel, 32, announced his retirement following Nigeria’s third-place finish on Wednesday in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] going on in Egypt.
The Nigerian midfielder took to his Instagram page on Thursday afternoon to break the news.
He said that he chose to end it in Egypt where he started his historic career.
