Heavily armed bandits, late Thursday, attacked a military check point near Zuma Rock, along Suleja/Abuja Road.
A resident of the area, who sent in the report, said that the armed bandits and the military engaged in a gun duel at the checkpoint located at Madalla, along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
According to the source, it took a reinforcement team to route the attackers in pursuit.
It could be recalled that internal intelligence from security outfits disclosed that bandits are focused on capturing Abuja.
Recently, the daring terrorists attacked and overpowered the Kuje prison, also in Abuja, and freed over 800 prisoners, including detained members of the Book Haram/ ISWAP sect
