A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe, has officially announced his defection to Social Democratic Party (SDP).

This is coming after the lawmaker last week, denied authoring a viral letter alleging his resignation from the All Progressive Congress (APC). Though, he claimed to have left the party for long.

Abe while denying the purported resignation letter said, “I didn’t author the purported resignation letter in circulation but everybody knows I had long left the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State. The Party does not have what it takes to win elections in the state.”

However, Abe announcing his defection to Social Democratic Party in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, claimed that he has been a member of the party and will remain irrevocably committed to the ideals that have driven his politics through the years.
